Extract and visualize your own Twitter data using Google Apps Script and Google Sheets

Use Apps Script to normalize your tweet data into tabular format for easy visualization & analysis.

I’ve a personal interest in Twitter data, in particular, how it can be collected analysed in Google Sheets so it was nice to see this example from Nick Young (@techupover). The solution shared by Nick uses Google Apps Script to parse a downloaded archive from a Twitter account and write it to a Google Sheet. A nice weekend project if you are looking for something to do :)

Use Google Apps Script to pull all Google Shared Drives and permissions into Google Sheets

If you’re a Google Workspace Super Admin, you’ve probably been thinking of ways to inventory and keep a handle on Google Shared Drives. They are a really great addition to the Workspace offering, but there are still some gaps in reporting & oversight that some people have wanted. This solution uses Google Apps Script and the Drive API to pull information about all the Shared Drives in a domain into a Google Sheet. Then, it uses the Drive API again to loop through all the drives and get the top-level permissions.

For Google Workspace admins Nick Young has provided a nice solution for auditing Google Shared Drives within your Workspace domain. This post covers all the steps to setup, a link to the code on GitHub and some notes on limitations to be aware of.

Create a book tracker using Apps Script and the Google Books API in 10 minutes

I wanted a quick and easy way for my kids to track the books they read, as well as a way for my wife to catalog all the books in the house. I know there are other services out there like Goodreads that can store your book list…but I just wanted to house the data myself, and not have to create accounts for my young kids.

Nice little project that glues together Google Forms and Sheets and the Google Book API with a little but of Google Apps Script. Follow the link for more information and the source code.
